Now it’s Mom’s turn

1

Dad was great again today. We spent a few hours with him until Mom got very sick. We had to rush her home and Dad was very concerned about her. He was very coherent today and his neighbors stopped by which made his day. Connie said he was a little confused after dinner when he got tired which seems to be the norm. I’ve been watching him sleep and he’s having a lot of trouble breathing. He stops breathing for long periods of time then wakes up gasping for air. I don’t know if this is related to the cancer or if he has a sleeping disorder like sleep apnea. I’m going to check with his doctor to see if he can tell me more.

Mom was very sick and nauseous. She didn’t eat dinner and went right to bed. I’m very concerned about her and she really wants to go back and see Dad even though she can’t stand up with getting very dizzy.

Hi Ted,

Will be brief due to this being a ‘re-attempt’. The first click to post brought me to a page display that I needed to enter in content (which I did)….here goea again…

Great to hear about your dad’s better day today!! :-) )

Was saddened to read of your mom’s discomofort and feeling badly physically.

Ulcers could be it, but sent you a PM or e-mail about my experience/knowledge with ulcers. She’s on the prayer lists also.

With your dad, is ther snoring during some of is bouts of sleep? Snooring is a common symptom of many forms of Apnea.

Does he sit upright upon awaking (sometimes the snoring wakes-up the individual and the first reflex is sitting upright, somewhat in an appearing ‘half-asleep daze).

After consulting with a doctor and/or nurse, and they think he may indeed have apnea (or even if it’s from the cancer) and they feel an Oxygen machine would be safe to use, let me know if you have any problems getting it for free. I’d be honored to assist by shipping one off to you for free.

My sis has diagnosed apnea. She doesn’t use the machine though, and it can be easily steralized from the very few times she’s used it.(it’s in apparant remmission)

From clients/patients I’ve worked with who’ve had apnea, along with sis, I’ve learned a bit about it all.

It is generally used at bedtime, a facemask hooked to the machine is worn, and it pumps pure Oxygen into the brain (via nose and lungs) where it is so needed to resolve the Oxygen deprived brain cells, afftecting the quality of restful sleep.

Again, let me know if you have any difficulty getting one for free, and I’ll ship/mail it off to you.

Well, finally, heading off to bed myself (at this late hour). Have just felt a great need to catch up some, and catching up on how your folks, you, and your family are doing. Again, am streaming good thoughts and prayers your way.

Sincerely,
Richard
